This trip is ideal for families with children aged 8 and up and includes some extremely exclusive properties! You’ll go on safari in Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti before ending your trip in Zanzibar with a big beach break.

The itinerary includes some of Tanzania’s most iconic sites as well as properties that cater to a wide range of children’s activities. It combines viewing of the Big Five and the Great Migration with Zanzibar’s stunning Indian Ocean coastline. The famous Great Migration river crossings take place in the North Serengeti from July to October, when huge herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles brave the park’s croc-infested waters. We’ve included some fantastic family-friendly properties with special rates for children aged 8 to 12 years old!

Gibb’s Farm, Lamai Serengeti, and Baraza Resort & Spa are the three fantastic properties where you’ll stay. At Gibb’s a fantastic base for exploring both Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater, as it is nestled among coffee plantations on the outskirts of the Ngorongoro hills. Next, Lamai offers exceptional game viewing from a remote location in the Serengeti National Park’s northern region. Finally, you’ll fly to Baraza for some water and land sports, as well as some relaxing beach time!

Day by Day
Itinerary

Days 1-2 The Ngorongoro Crater & Lake Manyara

You’ll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport for a special VIP Meet and Greet on the first day of your adventure! After that, you’ll fly to Lake Manyara Airport (50 minutes), where your private guide will greet you. This guide and safari vehicle have been reserved exclusively for you, and you’ll get to go on your first game drive in Lake Manyara National Park on your way to your hotel! You can settle into your garden cottage once you’ve arrived at Gibb’s Farm. This timber-and-stone structure, located within the farm’s grounds, has two en-suite bedrooms and a lovely private veranda. At Gibb’s, there’s a cozy lounge, a dining terrace, and beautiful gardens to explore. On Day 2, you’ll go on a fantastic game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater on Day 2! Kids will be on the edge of their seats as they try to spot all of the animals. Farm tours, forest walks, and village visits are among the other activities available.

In the full-board package, you get private game drives in Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, as well as a laundry service, to clean your clothes.

3-6 days Serengeti National Park is located in Tanzania.

You’ll return to Lake Manyara Airport on Day 3 of your trip and fly to the Serengeti’s Kogatende Airstrip (1 hour and 15 mins). You’ll take a shared road transfer to Lamai Serengeti, where you’ll be based for excursions into the famous national park, where you’ll see a diverse range of wildlife! Your lodging will be in a standard room, with the option of a family room available upon request. The standards are very high here, and each room has its own private deck. Comfortable lounges and a sparkling swimming pool are among the communal spaces at the camp. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to go on guided game drives in the North Serengeti during your stay. Throughout the year, this is an excellent safari destination, though the camp is closed in April and May. The Great Migration river crossings take place during this time, and huge herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles hurtle through swift-flowing waters in search of good grazing. There are also a lot of predators on the loose, as well as a lot of birds.

7–10 days. Zanzibar Pool Bar is a large pool bar on the island of Zanzibar.

It’s finally time for your beach vacation! You’ll take a shared road transfer back to Kogatende Airstrip and fly to Zanzibar’s international airport (4 hrs 55 mins).

Another shared road transfer will take you to the fantastic Baraza Resort & Spa. This east coast resort offers luxurious lounges, restaurants, and three swimming pools, one of which is specifically designed for children, making it the ideal place to unwind after your safari. During your stay, you’ll be staying in a two-bedroom villa with a private terrace and your own plunge pool with garden views. Baraza offers a wide range of watersports, land sports, a culturally rich Swahili experience, and plenty of activities for young guests through the resort’s kids club… and, of course, as much beach time as you want!

Full-board accommodation with all meals, a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and Wi-Fi.

On Day 11, you’ll take a shared road transfer to Zanzibar’s international airport in time for your flight/s home.
