Take the rest of the day to relax, restore, and enjoy your first taste of Africa after arriving at your first luxury lodge in Arusha. Ask your Tanzania specialist guide as many questions as you want!
You are in charge of your vacation on this exclusive private safari. Get a good night’s sleep after a relaxing day in the comfort of your boutique safari lodge. Your 5-day Tanzania safari will begin tomorrow morning!
Ngorongoro Crater (Day 2)
Travel from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on the second day of your Tanzania safari. Relax and take in the scenery as the road winds through the Great Rift Valley, through the crater forest, and finally to the stunning Ngorongoro Crater.
This crater volcano is one of Tanzania’s most popular tourist attractions, and it’s easy to see why. The crater, which is one of Africa’s seven natural wonders, is home to Africa’s highest concentration of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, and even the rare black rhino. Explore the unique landscape in the safety and comfort of your own private safari vehicle, and get a taste of nature at its best.
Aside from game drives, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area offers a variety of Tanzanian activities, including visits to traditional Maasai villages. The Laetoli Footprint, estimated to be 3.6 million years old, is the oldest known footprint of early humans. Interested? Here’s where you can learn more about the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Tarangire National Park, Day 3
Enjoy a tasty breakfast as the sun rises after a busy day at the Ngorongoro Crater. Then, drive to Tarangire National Park for a full day of game drives. Expect to see very few other people on your trip, and you’ll have a lot of time to yourself to look at elephant herds and Baobab trees in one of the less-known national parks of the atmosphere.
The Tarangire has the world’s highest concentration of wild elephants, making for unbeatable elephant sightings. Around the Tarangire River, herds of up to 300 elephants can be seen drinking from the shallows or taking a refreshing mud bath. Aside from elephants, Tarangire is a birder’s paradise. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, and even tree-climbing pythons can be found in the area surrounding these swamps. Tarangire National Park is a fascinating place to visit.
The Sangaiwe Tented Lodge is where you’ll spend the last night of your five-day Tanzania safari. It’s in one of the most beautiful places in the Tarangire region and has great views of the Tarangire savannah.
Tarangire-Airport (Days 4-5)
Today is your last day on your Tanzania safari, following a beautiful final evening with fantastic food and an unforgettable sunset. Use your last morning, depending on your flight, to go on one final, epic game drive. Your private driver will pick you up from your five-star Tarangire safari lodge and transport you to Kilimanjaro airport in time for your return flight home.
