Tanzania Honeymoon Safari 10 Days

Before continuing on to the idyllic island of Zanzibar, this honeymoon trip visits three of Tanzania’s most famous safari areas: Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti! It’s also a great option for couples.

The adventure begins at Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is a top-notch property on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, with easy access to the world-famous wildlife habitat! Following that, you’ll spend time in the North Serengeti at Lemala Mara, an adventurous mobile camp. This camp follows the herds of the Great Migration. Your final days are spent at Breezes Beach Club & Spa on Zanzibar’s south-east coast. Breezes is the island’s oldest and most established resort, and it’s a Carnivore Safaris favorite.

You’ll enjoy expertly guided game drives, crater rim walks, and hiking in the region’s forests during your stay at Lemala Ngorongoro. Vehicle safaris are also available at Lemala Mara, with a focus on tracking those massive herbivore herds! After your safari, a stay at Breezes provides plenty of opportunities to relax, but if you want to get more active, there are plenty of watersports, land sports, and excursions available throughout Zanzibar.

Day by Day
Itinerary

1–2 days The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a protected area in Tanzania.

Sightings of wildebeest and zebra in Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater.
On the first day of your honeymoon, you’ll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and be greeted by a VIP. You’ll fly to Lake Manyara Airport and take a shared road transfer to Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp from there. This property is situated on the crater’s eastern rim, in the shade of acacia trees. Its communal lounge and dining areas are housed in a traditional mess tent, which also has a veranda where you can relax and take in the views. You’ll sleep in one of the camp’s 12 Meru-style tents, which feature a comfortable bedroom with a seating area, a well-equipped en-suite shower room, and a private deck. The Lemala Ngorongoro is the closest property in the region to the crater. This means that if you get up early on Day 2, you’ll be rewarded with an expertly guided game drive on the crater floor when it’s the quietest of the day. The Big Five – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – as well as numerous smaller mammals and abundant birdlife, are among the wildlife highlights. Crater rim and forest walks are available at the camp.

The board’s foundation and activities are as follows:

All meals are included, as are a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, two half-day or one full-day game drives per day, transfers between the camp and the nearest airstrip, Wi-Fi, and a laundry service. Please note that you can go on a car safari in Lake Manyara National Park while you’re there. Please ask a member of the Carnivore safari team for more information.

Serengeti National Park (Days 3–5)

On your third day, take a shared road transfer from Lemala Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara Airport before flying to Kogatende Airstrip in the North Serengeti. You’ll take another shared transfer to Lemala Mara once you’ve arrived. This mobile camp, nestled among euclea trees near the famous River Mara, provides an excellent base from which to track the Great Migration’s herds. Its lounge and dining areas are each housed in a large tent with luxurious furnishings. There’s also a fire pit, which is ideal for unwinding after a day on safari. There are 12 guest tents here, each with a comfortable bedroom/lounge space and a lovely private deck, similar to the tents at Lemala Ngorongoro. Viewing the tens of thousands of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles that make up the Great Migration as they push up into the Serengeti’s northern region in search of food is a highlight of Lemala Mara’s activities. You’ll probably see a lot of big cats, as well as crocodiles lurking in the Mara River, waiting for a hapless herbivore! There are also hundreds of different bird species.
